Description and Video of Our Digital Imaging Technology

Bone Density (DEXA)

Our new GE Lunar bone density scans (more commonly called DEXA scans) provide the most accurate bone measurements available as well as more advanced body analyses (such as body fat composition). Now available in Perth.

CT Scan

During a Computed Tomography (CT) scan, a thin beam of x-rays rotates around a specific part of your body producing images from various angles. The computer then maps these images into cross-sections, or slices.

Epidural Steroid Injection

An epidural steroid injection (ESI) is a minimally invasive procedure that can help relieve neck, arm, back, and leg pain caused by inflamed spinal nerves. ESI may be performed to relieve pain caused by spinal stenosis, spondylolysis, or disc herniation.

Mammography

A yearly screening mammogram starting at age 40 for most women is part of the first line of defense against breast cancer. Our facility uses the mostrecent advances in breast imaging like CAD (computer-aided detection) to provide reliable digital results. Now available in Perth.

MRI Scan

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) combines radio waves and a magnetic field to create detailed pictures of body structures such as the brain, the spine, and other vital organs.

Nuclear Medicine

This branch of advanced diagnostic imaging uses small amounts of radioactive material to help visualize, diagnose and gauge the progression of various medical conditions. A special gamma camera is used to better understand and interpret organ function.

PET/CT

Positron Emission Tomography (PET) is a unique imaging modality capable of detecting certain diseases at the cellular level. In addition, it can provide useful information for managing your treatment and care.

Radiology (X-RAY)

The most common form of imaging, x-rays are used to detect breaks and fractures in the bone as well as soft tissue abnormalities. Most of your radiology needs are available at Littauer 24 hours a day. Now available in Perth.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound is an imaging technique that uses high frequency sound waves to produce real-time images of different organs and structures of the body.
